New Gravity franchisees sign up at premier UK location

Cousins and business partners Joe Moon and Mark Byron are the latest to sign up to the Gravity franchise opportunity, launching the newest site in one of Europe’s highest footfall locations.

Star City, Birmingham, will be the new home of the latest Gravity complex.  At nearly 2,500square metres the new attraction will feature wall to wall trampolines, ninja run, wipe out, soft-play, party rooms, next-generation light and sound system, plus a café with mouth-watering waffles from Wafflemeister.

Joe comments: “We’ve been in franchising for over ten years, and when the Gravity opportunity came up we immediately saw the potential and rewards of this particular model. Unfortunately, COVID has accelerated the challenges on the high-street, and we firmly believe leisure will be front and centre, replacing retail spaces in 2021 and beyond.

There were many determining factors which supported our decision to sign the ten-year agreement. Gravity’s approach is one of partnership and unified development, which was a massive tick for us. The whole process has been collaborative and open. They also invested in the project, providing a six-figure sum of inward investment which supported our ability to move quickly. Plus they are also on the lease which provides us with security and the comfort  that we’re in it together.”

Launching in Q3 2021, the project comes after months of planning and preparation through the current pandemic. It will provide families with a safe and COVID compliant environment to have some much-needed family time.

Gravity Co-Owner Harvey Jenkinson (pictured left) comments: “We’re really excited to be launching this site with Joe, Mark and the other investors. Star City is in an excellent area, just ten minutes from Birmingham city centre. There’s no comparable offer in Birmingham and the guy’s approach to the project has been exceptional and exactly what we want from our franchisees.

Every business has been challenged over the past 12months, including ourselves. We’ve taken comfort in that when we’ve been able to trade we’ve performed above and beyond expectations and pre-COVID-19 targets. We believe with the vaccine role out; the desire to spend quality family time in a premium leisure environment will never be greater.”

Gravity Active Entertainment specialises in delivering hour-long trampoline sessions, fitness classes, parent and toddler events, SEN sessions and birthday parties. The site will also provide corporate and community outreach programmes.

Star City is one of the most popular leisure destinations in the UK with some of the highest footfall numbers both here and in Europe. It is situated in the northeast of the city very close to the M6 motorway and Aston railway station with excellent accessibility via the local road network.

As owner investors, Joe and Mark are recruiting an experienced management team to run Gravity’s first site in Birmingham. The site will create over 60 local retail jobs for the area.
